In 1867, Emmanuel Lipmann created a small watchmaking workshop in Besançon. A true pioneer, LIP helped shape the history of watchmaking techniques through more than a century and a half of innovations and exclusive creations, and made elegance and sophisticated design more widely accessible. Over more than 150 years, LIP has built up its watchmaking expertise in a unique way by making, against the norm, the watch designed for all that has been the watch of great figures such as De Gaulle, Churchill, Herzog, Tabarly... The oldest French watchmaking brand still in business, LIP develops and manufactures all of its watches in Besançon, France.
